Santosh George

Santosh George is registered for a PhD in Veterinary Medicine from Ghent University, Belgium and Christian Medical College, Vellore, focusing on anthroponotic and zoonotic infections with soil transmitted helminthes (STH) in southern India. The main focus of his project is to study the importance of animals in human STH infections. He is optimizing the molecular characterization of the different species of Ascaris, Trichuris and hookworms within the different hosts (humans, dogs and pigs) and assessing the importance of animals as a reservoir for zoonotic transmission of STH in endemic regions of India.
